Georgioupoli – Lake Kournas – Lappa – Argyroupoli waterfalls (from Rethymnon)

 Description of the tour:

This tour is designed for those who do not enjoy tiring long journeys but want to spend quality time with their family.

Our first stop is the fishing village of Georgioupoli, where we will see huge eucalyptus trees and a grove, springs that give rise to the Almiros River, and a small church of St. Nicholas, built on a rocky island, to which a path leads directly from the shore and offers a magnificent view of the surrounding area. We will visit the only freshwater lake, Kournas, in Crete. There we will have enough time to swim, swim on a catamaran, or have a cup of coffee in a coastal cafe.

Then we will drive to the area of the ancient city-state of Lappa, walk along its narrow streets that have preserved the architectural style of bygone centuries, and get acquainted with its rich historical past. Further, we will go down to the Roman necropolis and see a huge plane tree (more than 2000 years old).

Finally, we will rest in the cool place of Argiroupoli, under the murmur of waterfalls in the shade of huge plane trees, and taste the best "antikristo" lamb or freshly caught grilled trout in the tavern.
